The Almenhof serves steaks and special game dishes, as well as Allgäu cuisine typical of the region. We are passionate about cooking and take a lot of trouble where the quality of our menu is concerned. All dishes are prepared fresh and with a lot of love. The location of our restaurant in Rubi is uniquely beautiful. To the east, right behind the house, the trail for climbing the Rubihorn begins. To the south and west, we have open skies. Which means that our garden enjoys sunshine all day long. The best thing to do would be to visit us yourself soon and let us pamper you in the idyllic pub garden.

History of the Almenhof

Allgäu lifestyle

Less than 50 years ago, the Almenhof was a typical Allgäu farm with rooms to rent, just like many others. Our great-grandmother Walburga Witsch loved a house full of many cheerful guests, as demonstrated by many pictures in our inn. Gradually, a small village café developed, with many enjoyable evenings. Her son-in-law, the musician Georg Kleber, founded the daily sundowner session with live family music-making in 1982, which is now considered the musical foundation of our inn.

The small village café also developed over the years into an established country inn, not least because of Georg's son-in-law Dieter "Oxar" Willmann, who also came to our inn in 1982 as a cook and married Georg's daughter Andrea. Since then, the inn and the beer garden have been home to good food and happy people, and also the widely popular musical sundowner. The Almenhof has been famous since then for its good food, beautiful holiday apartments and daily live family music-making on site.

Unfortunately we are not able to continue our musical tradition at present due to the Coronavirus, which is a great disappointment to us.
